Yeah, being a johnny is hard; you wanna build your own decks but 9/10 times what you build isn't tier one. So...by playing such decks you are probably just lowering your win-rate by 2-3%. I play EU, But if you send me your battle Id on Youtube I'll add ya. :)

I was half-tempted to reply to him and say "Yeah I already do that...and its not helping". But in the end if there is nothing they could do Its a bit pointless having that discussion. As for streaming, Its something I plan on getting into, but trying to run a stream on my laptop/crappy internet is a technical challenge. I'm sure I can make it work, its just a question of 'being arsed'. As for HOTS...I'm EU. I mentioned that because 90% of the time when someone what to play with me they are on the wrong damn server. :)

Yes, unfortunately hitting Legend probably will require that you behave like you did with Fantasy Basketball. Some days I deeply regret "mastering" hearthstone. I would probably be having a lot more fun if I never beat rank 10. But with that said I do enjoy writing so you know, swings and roundabouts, I guess. But anyway, I think the idea of fun is something so many players miss; everyone looks at pro-gamers and thinks it would be an awesome career. What people fail to understand is that to play the game at the pro-level often saps all the fun out of it. He's an interesting read related to that. http://www.theguardian.com/sport/2009/oct/29/andre-agassi-hate-tennis

If you can make it to Rank 2 you have the skills, you just need time. Unfortunately though you need a lot of it! But yeah, with patience and dedication I'm sure you'll make it. :)

Unfortunately Rogue is in a bad spot right now, so its a shame you decided to try and master this class (had you put the same effort into Druid you probably would have hit legend with it). @Rain Buckets The tracker I use has lots of options to turn on/off different bits and peices. As for a mobile version, I am not sure.

I haven't read that book but I have skimmed over some of Malcom Gladwell's stuff ("Outlier's?"). Same sort of conclusion. But yeah, I don't think the fact that most HS pro's have been playing since Beta is a coincidence. Experience is key, I think.

yes. If you are going to take the face damage then going face with Raptor is better. Its still bad for the reasons I described, but it is better.

  • Drafting and Playing Terrible Cards in Hearthstone’s Arena
    10/26/2015
minor point on chicken: You mention Houndmaster but didn't explicitly mention that for some classes (i.e. Druid, Hunter) the card has a slightly higher ceiling due to beast synergy. (e.g Druid of the Fang, Kill Command). Ergo, If presented with the pick#1 choice of Watcher/Seer/Chicken then I think you can make a good case for picking up the chicken if you are playing Hunter. As Druid, I'd probably pick up the Seer, Although with that said the Chicken played one T1 means that injunction with Hero power you have a method of clearing 3/2's on T2. This is probably not an idea worth drafting around, but it is worth considering during the mulligan.

  • Lucky’s Thoughts on the Warsong Commander Nerf
    10/20/2015
Charge warrior (given the current pool of cards) probably wouldn't work at all. But the nerf isn't really do with current cards, its about Design space. And at the end of the day I think any card that interacts with charge is potentially dangerous We know from timber wolf/leokk that +2 attack unleash is fine, but I dread to think what +3 attack could do. Ergo you could not really print an unleash like card in Warrior with that change to Warsong. Likewise, Giving Warrior shadowstep could cause issues (e.g. Arcane G + Warsong + shadowstep = 12 dmg for 7 mana). This is not to say that such a deck would be 'broken', but it does suggest that +2 attack to charge limits what you can do in the future. The difference between 1 and 2, damage is huge... 1 dmg is unplayable (e.g. Raid Leader) but 2 dmg is potentially strong (e.g. S. Roar, FlameT Totem).
  • Lucky’s Thoughts on the Warsong Commander Nerf
    10/20/2015
Its probably worth pointing out how hard it is to Balance charge. For example, let's give Warsong +2 attack as you suggest Lucky. Stonetusk Boar becomes a Wolfrider and Arcane Golem becomes Leeroy Jenkins. Argent Horse-rider is (almost) Argent commander. It terms of value, Warsong is adding about 2 mana per charge minion. In terms of power this might be acceptable now (although with that said in terms of Power level such a card is on par/better than with Mad Scientist in Hunter) but once again you have problems with design space; how many strong charge minions can you add to the game before Warsong basically becomes Savage Roar + 2/3 body? In short, If the card *has* to have charge in its text it is best that it has been nerfed to oblivion. If you make it remotely playable the "design space" reason for the nerf falls flat, I think. Personally I'd have preferred to see blizzard just remove the card and something new (preferably good in Arena) In its place. ----------------------- As for timing, its probably deliberate. "hey lets make sure the viewers don't get board watching Patron Games all day".

Within the next week or so I should have a pair of articles about the 20-to-Legend grind. Its not exactly what you are asking for (e.g. It doesn't cover decklists for low ranks) but it should help answer some of your questions. :)
