Hearthstone Basic + Naxxramas Decks – All 9 Classes!

Greetings, I’m Sheng, a Legend rank constructed and 7.5 win-average arena player. I run HearthstoneCoaching.com where our coaches have helped many students achieve the same.

If you are new to Hearthstone or just started your Hearthstone cards collection, this section is the perfect place for you to get started!

Editor’s Note: With the new Standard Format in 2016 for Hearthstone, we highly recommend going for cards in the Classic set and Whispers of the Old Gods (Standard Format). Here are budget guides, also from Sheng, to get you started!

Introduction

Note: Don’t forget to check out our New Player section – featuring Crafting/Disenchanting and Free to Play guides!

Technically these decks are all 0 dust to build, though you’ll need to purchase Naxxramas if you don’t have it already. In my opinion, it’s the best $25 a new player can put towards the game to start a collection.

While it’s unlikely that you’ll get much further than Rank 10 on the ladder with these upgraded decks, the goal of this series is to provide for newer players a way to kickstart their Hearthstone journey. You’ll find at the end of each guide that there’s a short section on how to upgrade your deck. You can make card substitutions to each of these decks as you open more Expert packs to make them stronger.

Note: Once you have a good amount of cards in your collection and ready to try more competitive decks, head on over to the Meta Deck Guides and take a look!

Basic Cards + Naxxramas Adventure

Here are Basic decks built to include cards from the Naxxramas Adventure!

Druid

With the inclusion of Naxxramas cards, Wild Growths were removed to make room for Zombie Chows, which provide great early game pressure. The inclusion of Spectral Knights improves our deck tremendously, as this is a minion that cannot be targeted by our enemy’s spells.

Hunter

Because of the change to Starving Buzzard, a key Hunter card, this deck was modified to include more “value” minions and less Beasts.

Mage

A strong deck made even stronger with the inclusion of Naxxramas cards. Zombie Chows provide much more early pressure than Arcane Missiles, and Sludge Belchers slow down the game for more effective Flamestrikes.

Paladin

The Naxxramas version of this deck includes the legendary Kel’Thuzad, which becomes a nightmare for opponents, if this deck gets to turn 8 with several minions on the board.

Priest

The inclusion of Dark Cultists, perhaps the best 3 mana minion in the game, have made this deck even stronger. Sludge Belchers help to turn the tide against aggro decks.

Rogue

A much better version of our original Tempo Rogue deck, as many key minions have been upgraded.

Shaman

An improvement over our original Bloodlust Shaman. Haunted Creeper tokens provide us with more targets for our Flametongue Totems and Bloodlust. Kel’Thuzad allows us to recycle our minions so they can be used again.

Warlock

The Naxxramas version of our Warlock deck improves key minions.

Warrior

Naxxramas provides us with even better weapons to choose from, and the inclusion of Death’s Bite improves our deck’s ability to trigger situational cards like Execute.

Narrowing That Gap

Deck construction was one of the hardest things for me to learn when I first picked up this game, so I hope this will help you newer players bridge that gap faster than I did. As always, I’d love to answer your questions on this thread or on the guides themselves. Enjoy!

Editor’s Note: Be sure to check out the New Players section, other Beginner and Budget Decks, and our most popular section – Monthly Top Meta Decks.

Sheng, I recently came back to hearthstone.
Last year when I started playing hearthstone your Basic-Naxx Mage Deck brought me into League 17 or 16 in a week of casual play.
Then I paused for a while and just came back to the game.
    I’m currently stuck between 19 and 18.
Are the Decks still viable in this season?

I use this deck with only a few minor improvements (Knife Juggler, for example) and I got to rank 16. Since I consider myself to be a pretty bad player I’d assume that Sheng’s deck is still very viable
