• Running WIld: Upgrading Wild Decks

Hey there :) Tarim is great for buffing your recruits in the standard format but in the wild format you have quartermaster that does the same but for a lot cheaper.

Hey there! Thanks for the feedback! :) To be perfectly honest, I don't think that the warrior quest is THAT bad. The reward is really not that bad and it gives warrior a way to quickly wrap up the late game. The problem with the quest is that it requires of you to run taunt minions and taunt warrior, so far, has been complete trash. If the quest itself was something different or if the number of taunt minion required of you to finish the quest was reduced from 7 to, let's say, 5 or if it at least decided to count the summoned taunt minions than it would have been a much better quest than what it is right now. Taunt warrior is showing some promise but I'm still remaining convinced that people are overrating the power of this quest just because you need to play a very bad deck to get it to work. Maybe I'm wrong but historically taunt warrior has always been the worst warrior deck archetype. I don't think that will change any time soon.

Hey there! 1.) Depends heavily on the deck. You could, for example, take your Reno standard deck and take it to the wild format and have a decent chance of succeeding in climbing to legend rank. I would still strongly advise to craft at least Sludge Belcher and Piloted Shredder because those two are the best wild minions in the format (at least the less expensive ones) 2.) Yes, I think that any Reno deck that is currently in standard is going to get you to legend. Jade golem shaman is a decent choice as well. Pirate warrior with ship's canon is also good.

Hey there! Sorry for the lade reply. The deck should get you to at least rank 5. I've ran it to rank 5 several times before. However I'm not 100% sure how well would it do against the pirate package but luckily for us STB is getting a nerf probably this Thursday.

Hey there! I'm glad that you're liking the deck :) STB is getting a nerf really soon (I would bet on this Thursday) so the decks that I post here will become more viable in the very near future. Thanks for your opinion on the types of decks :)

  • Running Wild: A Guide To The Wild Format
    02/07/2017
Hey there! Thanks for the feedback! I didn't mention it because I was trying to mention as few standard decks as possible. I've explained my reasoning here: Every standard deck can be played in the wild format do some degree of success but since I want to make this article as wild exclusive as possible I will do my best not to mention too many standard decks. Pirate warrior is VERY viable in the wild meta and I've even mentioned that a few times in the article but I've wanted to keep focus on the wild decks :)

Hey there! Thanks for the feedback :) I've noticed the trend of standard decks appearing in the wild more often the higher you go in ranks. Most of the decks that I encounter nowadays on the wild ladder are the exact same that you've mentioned but just with egg druid instead of dragon or control priest. Hopefully this will change with the upcoming nerfs.

Hey there! Thanks for the feedback! I'm really glad that you've like the wild meta report. I think that the wild format should receive at least a bit more attention and this feedback is more than welcomed! I personally have a different weekly series called ''The Definitive Guide'' and I don't do meta reports very often. The last one that I did was in December but that is mostly because the current metagame is too stale and I don't want to keep repeating myself every week. We currently don't have any strict schedule for the meta reports.
  • Standard 2017: Nerfing Classic Cards vs Moving Them To Wild Format
    01/10/2017
I personally have a much lesser issue with them nerfing latest cards like Patches which are played in 3 decks than nerfing evergreen classic cards which are the backbone of so many decks in both standard and wild format. Nerfing classic cards in order to phase out certain decks will have a much bigger consequences to the game as a whole than nerfing the latest cards. Example, if you nerf Patches you've nerfed pirate decks. However, if you nerf Auctioneer even further than you've just phased out miracle decks (rogue, malyrogue and malydruid) out of the game entirely. Since Patches is a newer card than the game will get to recover from the nerf and adapt to it, but nerfing a classic cards that has been around forever and is the backbone of two decks will have much more dire consequences to the game as a whole. However, if you simply move those cards to the wild format than you've still nerfed problematic decks but didn't phase them out of the game. You've still accomplished your original goal. I do believe that moving cards to wild, if that happens, will only affect the cards from the classic set (and refunds for those cards will be given). I do agree that the seriously problematic and broken cards like the undertaker should be nerfed instead of being moved.
