Guide on Amazon Coins outside US/UK/Germany (no VPNs)!

Introduction

Note: You can check out our previous guides here.

Amazon Coins are the currency that you can use to buy things in the Amazon Appstore and everything downloaded from the Appstore (games etc.), including Hearthstone. The Coins are good way to buy the packs much cheaper – if you buy bigger amount of Coins you get a standard 10% discount and big purchases refund you 10% of the Coins you’ve spent. That’s just the standard deal you have going around all the time, Amazon is giving a lot of promotions from time to time, increasing either the discount on the Coins or the % amount of Coins you get back. Right now, Amazon holds a promotion – 5k Coins and above (100 Coins = 1$, meaning that 5k = 50$) are discounted by 20%.

This is great way to get the Pre-Purchase The Grand Tournament pack bundle! The bundle itself costs 50$, but with the Coins, even without ANY promotion you can get it for 45$ AND get 500 Coins (5$ worth of Coins) back, meaning the “final price” becomes 40$. If you buy the Coins now (20% instead of 10%) and by any chance the Coin cashback is gonna be increased before the release of The Grand Tournament, you’re going to save even more.

As you can see, Amazon Coins are the best way to buy the packs – sadly, the deal is only available to residents of United States, United Kingdom and Germany. But there is a way for everyone to buy and use the Amazon Coins. Be careful! This way may not be 100% legal! You’re gonna pretend you’re resident of different country than you really are. To be perfectly honest, I know a lot of people using this way and I’ve tried it too. I doubt anything is gonna happen to your Amazon account and I’m fairly certain your Battle.net account is more than safe, I just had to warn you. If you’re still interested, read further.

Here are the screenshots proving that it works for me: In-game Shop, Proof of buying something with Coins. But I can’t guarantee that this method is gonna work for you!

Step 1: Create and set-up Amazon account

The first step is rather simple. First you need to get into the Amazon.com website and create your account. Nothing complicated here, create your account and log in. If you already have the account, it’s also fine – just log into it.

Once you’re logged, go to “Your Account” menu. There, click on the “Manage Your Content and Devices” link in the “Digital Content” category. If you can’t find it, press CTRL + F to pop the Search Engine in your browser and insert the phrase you’re looking for there.

Once you are there, you should see three categories: “Your Content”, “Your Devices” and “Settings“. Click on the Settings and look for the “Country Settings“. Your country should be listed there. Click on the “Change” button and add a new address. So, here is the “not-so-legal” part. You need to make up your address and pick United States as your country. The address doesn’t even have to be real, just write anything you want. When it comes to the State, I’m not sure whether it matters, but I’ve read somewhere that you should pick Oregon or California. I’m not 100% convinced that it matters, but to be safe I’ve took Oregon and it works.

When you have your new address, click on the “Update” button. Congratulations, you should be seen as the resident of the US on the mobile devices right now.

Now you need to attatch the Credit/Debit Card to your Amazon.com account. Sadly, you can’t pay with PayPal or any other method. To attach the Card, once again go to “Your Account“. Find “Add a Credit or Debit Card” in the “Amazon Wallet” category and click on it. Now you need to insert the card number, the name of card’s owner (probably yours, unless you steal your parents’ Card) and expiration date. Once it’s done, click on the “Next” button and select the address you want to attach the card to. Obviously, select the US address you’ve made up earlier.

If you don’t own the Credit or Debit Card, you’ll need to do the whole thing hard way. And by hard way I mean you’ll need find someone who’s gonna sell you Amazon Gift Card and then you’ll need to use the VPN etc. – if you want to see the full instruction, check it out here. If you don’t own the Card, the easiest way would be to borrow it from someone who trusts you – family, friends etc. Use it for buying the Coins, then detatch it from your account and pay them the money used on Coins in real life.

Be careful, though, and not buy the Amazon Coins in the normal store on your PC! You’re gonna need to buy them on the mobile (or emulator).

Step 2: Download the Amazon Appstore on your Android device or the Android emulator

So, if you have the Android device you can Install Hearthstone on, this step is gonna be much easier. But let’s assume you don’t have one for now.

First, you need to download the emulator. The two choices I’ve seen are either Genymotion or DuOS. I can’t really talk much about DuOS because it doesn’t work on my PC for some reason. But if you manage to install it, it should have the Amazon Appstore installed by default. I’ve done everything using Genymotion, because my Android phone really sucks and I already had the emulator set up. The Genymotion was commonly used in Hearthstone Samsung Galaxy promotion to get the new card back and 3 packs. If you don’t know how to set up the Genymotion emulator and download the Amazon Appstore – check it out here. Steps 1 to 8 are what interests you – up to downloading and installing Amazon Appstore.

If you have the real Android device, just download and install the Amazon Appstore by simply googling it – the first or second link that shows up should lead you to the download page.

Sign in to the Appstore with your Amazon.com account. If you were already signed in, log out and sign in again so the region change kicks in!

Step 3: Buy Amazon Coins

This one is actually pretty simple. On the top of the screen you’re gonna see “0 Coins”. Clicking on it is gonna take you to the page where you can buy Amazon Coins. Select the amount you want to buy – the 20% promotion that is going on right now applies to 5k and 10k Coin packs. If you want to buy more, you can buy them multiple times, obviously. Once you select the amount you want to buy, click on the “Buy” button and then confirm your choice. You’re gonna have to insert your password again and probably confirm few more things, like your Credit/Debit Card etc. Once everything’s done – you finish the transaction and receive your Coins!

My bank had limits on single Mobile & Internet transaction and I had to log into my bank account and increase those limits. So if the payment doesn’t get through or you don’t get your Coins, you can check it out. Another solution is to wait some time – my first successful transaction had some delay and I got coins after about an hour. My second transaction (I’ve bought the 10k + 5k Coins) went through smoothly.

Right now, you should be the proud owner of Amazon Coins. So, what to do now?

Step 4: Install Hearthstone and SPEND COINS!

You can actually do that before you buy the Coins, but it doesn’t really matter. You need to install Hearthstone in the Amazon Appstore. The Hearthstone NEEDS to be from US Amazon Appstore, so if you let’s say already have it installed on your Android device, you might have to delete and reinstall it.

Once the Hearthstone is successfully installed – launch it. At the top of the logging screen change your region to whatever you play on. It’s pretty easy to tell that you log into the wrong region, especially if you haven’t played there yet, but if you have are playing on couple of them, you might miss it and you don’t want to buy Packs on the wrong region.

Once you launch Hearthstone and log in, go into the Shop. When you select any item and click “Buy” (you can safely do that, it won’t instantly buy anything)  you’ll have the option to pay with money or with Amazon Coins. Congratulations! You can now use the Amazon Coins for in-game purchases.

Right now, you get 10% of the Coins back for the purchases. There is no confirmation whether Amazon will launch the promotion and give more Coin cashback before The Grand Tournament release, but you don’t have to hurry. The Coins won’t disappear from your Account and the TGT pre-purchase runs until the expansion’s release, so I’m pretty sure you still have quite some time to buy it. With the current deal, you can buy the 50$ pre-purchase bundle for 40$ plus get 5$ worth of Amazon Coins back. If by any chance Amazon launches the promotion and increases the Coin cashback to 30%, you’re gonna get 15$ worth of Amazon Coins back, upping the final value even more.

Closing

I hope you’ve found the guide helpful. If you have any problems, leave the comments and I’ll try to answer them. I’m not a guru though and I’m just giving you a way I’ve found and tested – I don’t guarantee it will work for you too. But you don’t have to worry about losing money – if something goes wrong and let’s say you won’t get the Coins while the money will disappear – Amazon will surely refund everything.

How do you think, should there be a problem if one has a surname with special signs (typical to country, like ą, ś)?

Does this still work? Im in the US and have been trying to get coins in the UK. Only becuase the actual coin amount per pack is cheaper there!

    • Stonekeep says:

It still works for me, I’ve just bought 5k coins yesterday! But like in the article itself, I’m not sure if it will work for everyone. It worked for some and didn’t work for the others.

  5. Xavier says:

I’ll be able to buy the new gadgetzan expansion with this?

    • Stonekeep says:

I don’t know if this method still works. I will try it myself, but only after the expansion is released.

The problem is that you can’t buy the pre-purchase pack (50 gadgetzan packs) with Amazon Coins. You could do that with every previous expansion, but not now – it’s only purchasable on the official HS site, not in the Amazon App. So you can’t choose to buy it with coins.

When the expansion comes out, I’ll probably be buying 60 packs with Coins so I could let you know if it still works.

everything is simple (used seed4me one year ago):
      1. connect to VPN
      2. find some UPS or FedEx postoffice address
      3. login into created Amazon account
      4. fill in the post’s address into your address
      5. save and buy coins

I live in austria, made an amazon account, put in a german address, attached the credit card of a friend of mine, purchased 500 coins, just to see if it works, and it did, so i ordered 10k coins and my account got locked. I got a mail that i had to fax my friends credit card billings. The guy was furious, but did send me his stuff, i faxed it and got my account back. Is it save to reattach the card and try to purchase 10k again?

    • Jimmy HSP says:

That sounds like a security check on Amazon’s part – a new account making a big first time purchase etc.

      • Nudelaug says:

Attached the card again, bought LOE for me and a friend. (~14,4€ instead of 18!)
When i bought NAX for my dude, it got stuck on the authentication screen, now he is fighting with blizzard to get his missing wings. =P
With the rest of the coins i bought packs. ~1,01€/pack is cheaper than 60 pack bundle!
Looking forward to more of those good deals. =D

  20. macieqq says:

I wanted to do all this but I ran into some problems. I like in EU and prices on my PC appear in euros. I’ve downloaded the emulator and what is weird, is that it shows my prices in $ now. What is more, it says 40 packs = $69,99, so if I buy for instance 5000 amazon coins for $40 (current deal), I won’t be even able to purchase 40 packs. Why prices shown are so high?

    • Omar says:

For $70 you buy 60 packs thats why the price is higuer, with $50 you buy 40 packs :)

      • macieqq says:

That is not what I have. It says $69,99 = 40 packs in the emulator. I borrowed an iPad from my brother to be sure and it says the same. Guess my country is special -_-

        • Omar says:

I’m from Costa Rica and i buyed 5000 amazon coins ($50) for just $40, and i can buy 40 packs for that WITHOUT using VPN (i was using amiduos emulator), i sugest you use some VPN if you are having problems, also remember to change your country to USA (Oregon or California because some states may apply taxes) in your Amazon account.

          • macieqq says:

Damn, I am not good at this. Don’t think it’s worth the effort. Will see, though, thank you.

  21. JT says:

So once I have done all this, purchased the cards with the coins and installed Hearthstone on my Android through the Amazon App store, will I be able to return to my PC and play Hearthstone there under my current non-US account?

Keep in mind my account lists a non-US address for my credit card and my country of residence is a non-US country, and I am not able to change the country of residence unless I go through Customer support. Also, for making the purchases via credit card, would the transaction go through if I used a US address? Obviously when we registered for our credit cards, we most likely did so with a non-US address.

    • JT says:

So my question really has two parts:

      1. Will using a US address prevent me from being able to use my credit card on Amazon.com since my credit card is registered with a non-US address?

      2. Say I am able to purchase the coins, will I be able to spend them on Hearthstone since the account lists a non-US country as my country of residence?

      • Stonekeep HSP says:

Sorry for taking so long to replay, here are the answers for your questions:

        1. No, it shouldn’t. I’m from Poland, i have Polish debit card (MasterCard) and after registering on the US address I can easily do the transactions.

        2. Yes, you will. You log in the US Amazon AppStore, download HS from there, but in the game you can actually change the region to whichever you want – EU, Asia etc. So you have an US AppStore with US prices and possibility to buy Coins, but you can spend them on EU server. And once you log back into the PC, every transaction that you’ve done in the AppStore should be there.

  22. Omar says:

I cant see the option to pay with amazon coins, im ok up to step 2 and i installed the app via amazon app but i cant see pay with coins or 0 coins just i need to add a payment method but i dont see the option to pay with coins (or see how much coins i have)

Im from Costa Rica and i’m not using a VPN for this because when i tryed i was on my phone, do you know if this in an emulator works?

    • Stonekeep HSP says:

I’ve tried doing everything through the Emulator, not through the phone. And it worked fine for me. You can try to dl the emulator and check it there (emulator is free anyway). If it won’t work – sorry, I don’t know why. It turns out that it works for some people and doesn’t work for others.

      • Omar says:

With amiduos i can access amazon.com and i see the coins option, lets hope i can pay and also have the rebate option, thank you

        • Stonekeep HSP says:

And how did it go? Did you manage to buy the Coins? :)

          • Omar says:

Yes, all fine (i bought the coins ingame)

          • Stonekeep HSP says:

That’s awesome. I see that a lot of people are having problems and I’m not sure what’s going on :(

  23. bero says:

Hey, I’m confused… I am a student from EU living in US, If I buy amazon coins, can I spend them on EU region? The EU region store uses EURO so I don’t know how its going to work out

    • bero says:

oh nevermind some people asked the same question. Welp ill try it when a big sale comes up and see how it goes

    • Stonekeep HSP says:

Haha, I’m glad that you found the answer already. I know it’s pretty confusing, but if you actually know what to do it gets pretty easy. You just need to log into the US Amazon Appstore with US as your country of residence, download HS from the US appstore, but then – already in the game – change the region to EU. You can still spend the coins you’ve bought in the US store :)

  24. Anonymous says:

Well that went well. My amazon account got blocked and went under investigation my bank must have raised a red flag. Hope anything bad doesn’t happen.

    • Jimmy HSP says:

That’s unfortunate to hear. We’ve never had problems or heard of it before. Let us know how it turns out!

      • Anonymous says:

Well luckily they reinstated account and cancelled the order i tried to make. Can’t really recommend buying packs this way after all this chatting, calling and emailing.

  25. Aviciio says:

Hi, you say after the location change on amazon.com, we should be seen as the resident of the US on the mobile devices right now, but you dont mention to use a mobile device earlier, so is it important to do so, or can i just change the adress via PC?
The further steps will be done via emulator, but i just hope to do right!
And by the way, thanks for all the help and replies!

    • Stonekeep HSP says:

The initial steps can be done on PC. You can create the account, change the address, attach the credit card etc. on your PC and only after everything’s done, you have to log-in through the mobile device.

      • Aviciio says:

Okay thanks, but i think the problem is that there is no coin-back-discount on the Europe hearthstone servers, even if i do all those steps. I tried it just like that every step by step and after i logged into the US Hearthstone loaded from my US Amazon Appstore on Emu, there was none.
Did i do anything wrong, or why is there no discount given?

  26. Heisenberg says:

Hi, thanks for this usefull guide, really appreciate it. Unfortunately I’ve found this article later, but I have a friend who could give me an amazon.com gift card of $110, how can I use at best this credit now (I’m not US, UK or DE)?
Also I wanted to ask if you can recommend a guide to use a VPN US while register and buying coins on amazon.com?
    Thanks for the attention!

    • Stonekeep HSP says:

Hey! I can’t really help you with Gift Cards or VPNs – I have not tried any of those ways. You can however check out this reddit post: https://www.reddit.com/r/hearthstone/comments/2q6alp/region_free_guide_on_howto_buy_packs_at_amazon/

I think it handles both of your concerns. But regarding VNPs – it’s not necessary to use it while registering and buying coins. At least it wasn’t in my case. I have the Polish IP and I haven’t changed it – everything went smoothly anyway.

      • Heisenberg says:

        Thanks for reply!
And about the best use today for use 110 dollars in coins on amazon.com, what you think, which is the best way to use it?
        Thank you!

        • Stonekeep HSP says:

Honestly, it really depends on your collection.

If your Classic/GvG collection is nearly finished and you don’t really need any more packs – I’d spend all of them on TGT. Especially since Amazon has rolled the promo and increased the Coins back on TGT packs to 20% (so you’re getting 10% more Coins back for free). But if you still need some Classic cards, I think 80 TGT packs is enough and you should spend rest of the money on Classic ones. Classic set has by far the biggest amount of playable Legendaries.

But like I’ve said at the start, can’t really tell what would be best for you if I don’t know what you already have.

  27. Anonymous says:

Tried all the steps, didn’t work. You need a credit card that Amazon accepts for these ‘US-only’ purchases, and I gues mine wasn’t part of the deal.

  28. Anonymous says:

I would not recommend this method to anyone I tried it and my amazon account got blocked and went under investigation my bank must have raised a red flag without notifying me or who knows maybe they saw the address mismatch anyway I am from Switzerland.

    • Stonekeep HSP says:

Hey, sorry to hear that. I’ve warned everyone that it MIGHT not work for them, it worked flawlessly for me and my friend who did the same. I’ve read that couple other people also did it after following this guide.

  29. supeh nameh says:

ok, so you chose that you are US, when you are EU? What I mean, is it doesn’t match US amazon with US hs servers, right?

    • Stonekeep HSP says:

You buy the coins in the US Amazon Appstore. You download HS from the US Amazon Appstore. Then when you log into the game, you change the region to the EU.

You can play on the EU server with the Hearthstone downloaded from US Amazon Appstore. That’s why it works.

      • supeh nameh says:

by the way, what’s even illegal in this?

        • Stonekeep HSP says:

Faking your adddress and pretending to be a citizen of another country isn’t 100% legal. Like I’ve said, it won’t likely have any consequences, but I had to warn you.

      • supeh nameh says:

got it, love ya, payment had delay of about 30 minutes

  30. Volvox Globator says:

I don’t think that it will work that way, as the Amazon page clearly states that is it for US Hearthstone servers only.

    • Stonekeep HSP says:

You don’t “think” it will work. Yeah, that’s a great argument :)

I’m playing on EU and I’ve posted the screenshots to prove that it works for me. Those are in the Introduction.

And like I’ve said, I can’t guarantee this method will work for everyone – it works smoothly for me, I’ve already bought 10k + 5k Coins.

  31. John says:

Tried it just now and i got an error when confirming the payment.

after the confirmation, the app says : “Thanks for your order ! Your order is pending. Thank for your patience. Your order is taking longer than normal to process. our balance will update automatically as soon as your new coins are available. We will also notify you through email, once the order has completed.”

    I’ll kepp you informed.

btw just wanted to say that this is exactly what happens to me .

    • John says:

I just checked My amazon app and I got 5000 coins.

I’d like to say that i made 3 atempts to buy the 5000 coins each time with the same error and got only 5000 coins.
On the 3 atempts, only once the app asked me to confirm my credit card before the error.

I’ll check again tomorrow and try to buy 5000 more coins to repeat the process.

      I’m in France btw.

      Thanls for the help.

      • John says:

Just purchase again 5000 coins. It was added directly to my account with no errors this time.

        This method works for France.

        • Stonekeep HSP says:

Hey, I’m glad it works for you! I also had some problems in the beginning but right now it works smoothly for me.

        • supeh nameh says:

hey john, how long did “pending” take?

I don’t think my debit card will allow a purchase if the billing address is different from my card’s billing address. Eg if I use the fake US address as my billing address, my bank will not allow the purchase to go through because it doesnt match the address linked to my card…

    • Stonekeep HSP says:

You don’t “think”? So you have or have not tried it?

      • Anonymous says:

Yep, I’ve just tried it, it shows the purchase as pending at first, then amazon sent me an email saying that they could not charge my card.

i even talked with the support and they asked me to test and wait atleast 8hours to see what happens – nothing happened and the order became “Stuck”

anyway i got my last refund…im not taking any more chances
im afriad next time they will find out im not really from the US and ill lose my money…

i would also note that i gave up on heartstone for that reason alone…my account is from the UK and im charged in GPB (damm expansive)
i dont know why blizzard have such expansive prices but making a new account with EU/US would be more expansive because i would have to get everything again like Naxx and some legends i already have!

so thank you every 1 for the support i wanted to be part of this community and learn from the best but sadly i wont do it if it require me to spend more then 200usd for few packs and an expansion -.-

Hey, sorry to hear that. I don’t know what to say. It really works for me and for my friend who also bought the Coins yesterday – too bad it doesn’t work for you.

If your Battle.net account is UK you can change that. E-mail Blizzard customer support and prove that you’re resident of another country – the scan of ID or driving license or something should be fine.

Don’t give up on HS! The game is really fun even though Blizzard sometimes makes things harder than they should be :(

ok i think i know what i did wrong…i just got another 10k coins refund from amazon(the 4 time already)

the only part i did wrong is that i bought the coins directly from my pc not using the emulator

i got the coins and was able to place an order but after that game stucks on “waiting for authorization” and order dont work

maybe thats what causing me problems?

“the only part i did wrong is that i bought the coins directly from my pc not using the emulator”

That’s one of the most important parts actually…

I don’t want to just rewrite the guide into the comment. Like I’ve said – I did everything like I’ve described in the guide and it works for me perfectly. I’ve bought couple of packs to check if I can pay for the purchases with Coins and it works. Not I’m waiting for a bigger Coin cashback if it’s even gonna hapen before TGT.

hey ! thanks for the guide but i think its not suppose to work that way…
from your saying all you have to do i just “fake” a US adress and you will be able to buy the coins
    but !
i did it the same way but because my credit card is somehow linked to my country (israel) i wasnt able to buy the coins…

only way i can think of is using hotspotshield vpn software

    • Stonekeep HSP says:

You have to fake the US address on the mobile devices, then you need to buy the Coins on the Android device and in the US Appstore and spend them in the Hearthstone downloaded from the US Appstore.

If you just fake the address and buy the Coins on the PC it won’t work.

When you add the Credit Card, you pick the address it should be linked to. That’s why you should make the US address and link the card to it.

Or are you doing everything I’ve posted here and it still doesn’t work?

      • Anonymous says:

        wait i dont get it…
i make an amazon account with fake us address
but because my credit card is from another country it doesnt give me the option to buy coins using my own pc – thats what i did

now from what you’re saying . i need to buy the coins from the android device which means i need to download that emulator > login my amazon account and try buying the coins from there ? not sure if im following the guide :\

going to install the emulator and try it there

        • Stonekeep HSP says:

Yes, you need to buy the coins on the Android device, not on the PC. Just follow the guide step by step and see if it works. And I mean it, step by step, don’t skip ANYTHING.

how you work with that emulator
i tried to add a virtual galaxy s5 just to have something work with and i keep get errors

          • Stonekeep HSP says:

You know, first of all, “getting errors” doesn’t tell me anything. And second, I’ve linked the guide with how to set up the Emulator (https://netdeck.n4ru.it/free-galaxy-gifts-cardback-and-3-packs/) – I’ve used it and it worked for me. I’m not an expert on the Android emulators, I’m using them for the first time myself so I doubt I’ll be able to help you.
