Every game requires its own amount of time, effort and even money, so we may not be able to play them all. But you can always rely to services that can boost your rank, achievements or get you a good gear while you doing another irl things, for example for Overwatch 2 this services calling as Overwatch 2 boosting. And if youre a hardcore Blizzard fan, you might be thinking about which title you’re gonna main in 2023 right about now. So let’s break it down!
In this article, we’ll be considering three of Blizzard’s greatest titles: Hearthstone, World of Warcraft and Overwatch 2. We’ll take a look at what each game has to offer and what their runs in 2023 may be like. So without further ado, let’s dive in!
Hearthstone
If you’re a sucker for Card Games, then Hearthstone is the ideal game to occupy your 2023! This Digital Collectible Card Game was developed by Blizzard Entertainment and released to the masses back on the 11th of March 2014. It is a free-to-play online game initially titled as the “Heroes of Warcraft”, a venture which sought to build upon the existing rich lore of the WoW series via the effective use of its elements, characters, and relics. They were pretty successful too, landing the British Academy Games Award for Multiplayer and The Game Award for Best Mobile/Handheld Game. Playable as Single-player or Multiplayer, you can access it on Microsoft Windows, macOS, iOS and Android.
Blizzard has already revealed some of its plans for Hearthstone in the future. It is a given that the Masters Tour, Masters Fall Championship and World Championship will all take place alongside other small events like Lobby Legends. Still, the lack of information for Hearthstone’s 2023 run got most of its players worried.
Back in 2020, Blizzard had to sign a deal with Google that rerouted all major, official Blizzard tournaments away from Twitch and onto YouTube instead. This shaky move caused the tournaments to lose around 80% of their viewership. The good news is, that deal is expiring in 2023 (unless Blizzard extends it). So keep your eyes peeled for Team 5’s return to Twitch! Hearthstone esports may not be as much rage now, but worry not, the official product manager Abar already confirmed that the game won’t shut down and will continue well into 2023, including next year’s World Championship. While the Grandmasters may be gone, the Masters Tours are pretty safe at the moment too.
World of Warcraft
The game which is arguably Blizzard’s crowning achievement, World of Warcraft, is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game which was released as far back as 23rd November 2004. As a huge part of the Warcraft series, it won so many awards as a testimony to its greatness; like the Technology & Engineering Emmy Award for Outstanding Achievement in Video Gaming Technology and Applications.
During its 19 year long run, WoW drew in so many devoted players and fans. Even with minor setbacks in subscriptions in recent years, it maintains an average of one million active players. WoW also experiences expansion every 2-3 years, so we are all eager about its plans for 2023. Blizzard is still extremely dedicated to improving the game, as apparent with the new Dragonflight expansion where they announced greater efforts to listen to their player base more. As you may already know, WoW is the grand-daddyof nearly all MMORPGs. Many of its systems, features, and ideas are clearly seen in other games.
With the addition of the Dragonflight expansion, new zones, features, re-developed systems, unique gameplay modes and many more features were added to the game. It even includes some pointers Blizzard picked up from their competitors. We now have material quality varieties, profession crafting tables, more flying mechanics, improved talent tree systems and so on. This is a great indication of the game’s willingness to change and adapt to the times, instead of staying stuck in older values.
Dragonflight is like a breath of fresh air, which includes engaging story lines, quests, player professions and Class Talent trees. So should you play WoW in 2023? Absolutely, yes! Blizzard has actively accepted player feedback and effectively implemented it into the game thus far. You can now learn to fly by level 61, giving you access to the entire map, allowing you to play at your own pace down your chosen route. A game that respects your time and money is quite rare in present times, so give this title a spin if you’re interested!
Overwatch 2
Overwatch 2 is Blizzard’s “fresh-out-of-the-oven” title right now. As the sequel to 2016’s largely successful hero shooter Overwatch, this game gives players a shared environment for PvP modes and cooperative modes. Team size has now been reduced to five and many new heroes grace the battlefield. OW2 is now playable on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Series S and Microsoft Windows.
So what’s in store for 2023? Well, Jon Spector has already announced the role of the next new hero at a meet & greet in Seoul! For every season in Overwatch 2, a new hero is put out and now we have confirmation that Ramattra is indeed a Support Hero. Ramattra is set to be released with Season 2 in December, and join the roster during Season 4 in April 2023. This is great news for all Support players, because the options we have now are quite lackluster.
In addition, there are some new game modes for 2023 & 2024 in the making, determined to create “different metas”. A new report by Forbes shows how the developers demonstrated some of these core game modes. One mode is said to be extremely different from the existing ones like Escort, Control and Push, and this heralds the coming of a completely new meta. Kris Holt expressed how this mode will usher in different metas and play styles when compared with the other map types. The developers are also working on the next core game mode said to be released in 2024, so it’s safe to expect lots of exciting content in 2023 as well.
We also have some news about OW2’s PVE content set for 2023. Team 4 split the development of PvP and PvE content so that players will always have something new to enjoy. So get ready for some awesome PvE runs that will include co-op missions concentrated on driving the story and lore forward. We can finally learn how the old guard of the Overwatch organization got acquainted with the fresh blood and how the team reassembled. Special PvE maps will also be added in certain seasons, allowing you to take on the Omnic extremist group Null Sector. These maps will also be particularly linked with the characters, like how one map in Gothenburg lets you visit the Torbjörn’s factory. Overall, pretty great stuff!
In conclusion; which Blizzard Game should you focus on in 2023? While it is mostly up to your tastes and circumstances, we highly recommend Overwatch 2 if you’re future-focused. It has so much planned for the coming years and is quite promising, to say the least. If you love Card Games, Hearthstone is the way to go, but be wary because its plans for 2023 and beyond are uncertain and shaky. WoW will always stand strong as one of the greatest MMORPGs of all time, and the latest developments show that the devs have ideas and plans for the future. It ain’t going down anytime soon and it’s not a bad idea to even start now. So what will it be? Which one(s) will you choose? Best make up your mind right now and be prepared in advance.
